TIFF RASTER...

does any one know how to load a TIFF4 image in AutoCAD?
or how to convert the TIFF4 to AutoCAD acceptable  TIFF ?

by the way...need also image compressor program....any suggestion ?

cause some user here have a drawing containing 42 raster image 6MB each !!!

and work with REGENAUTO..to ON  !!

imagine...i'm desesperate .. :(

I would suggest you convert the TIFF4's to maybe a jpg or png for use with Autocad. Just remember to increase the quality and lower compression of the jpg or png.

I don't know if it will handle TIFF4 but I use Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com) for most of my image conversions.

Do you have Raster Design, Andrea?  That will convert your images as well.

The issue with TIFFs and AutoCAD is to do with the LZW compression algorithm. Autodesk will not buy into a licence for LZW and so only uncompressed TIFFs can be used. For the same reason, GIFs are not supported - they use LZW too.

I use Photoshop for image conversion but any of the free apps like Irfanview will do just fine.
