So, I gave up on the idea of continuing to use the centerline of my pipe (civil 3d pipe networks), set with a width of the inner wall of my pipe, since it won't properly trim at the structure, even though it trims the out/inside walls accordingly. I've now been trying to create a hatch that will mimic the Hidden linetype, but I've never created a custom hatch pattern and it's proving to be a bit over my head.

What is this hatch supposed to look like?
Are you hatching a long rectangle / pipe?
Are you working in English units & feet?

The error is that the name in the file exactly.
The file says storm & the definition says stormpipe.

Consider this:
Code: [Select]
*test
0, 0, 0, 0, .01, 2, -2

Looks like just a line drawn with the "Hidden" linetype, set to a width of the pipe's inner wall.
Yes, long, rectangular pipe.
Imperial.

Holy crap, that worked. Thank you so much, Alan.

When I brought that in, I could select it, but said there was an error on line 2 when it tried to create a hatch object with that pattern.

Worked for me.
Stupid question, did you name the file test.pat?  8)
Did you add a carriage return on the last line?

Yes.
That was it.

OK, I got yours working and it's a lot better. It actually aligns to the pipe properly. Thank you so much. This is perfect.

Cab you need to set up paypal account because my company owes 1,000s of dollars of time saved when told them to quit erasing polylines in arch plans used to get area of rooms and to use them as a boundary for your 2x2 and 2x4 ceiling grid hatch to create ceiling grids.
