Acad 09 / publish / via Bluebeam
« on: December 19, 2013, 12:07:46 PM »
with the 09 install, there was no Bluebeam pdf printer, so reinstalled Bluebeam (same version)
I have an Acad print set up with Bluebeam as the printer, but now when I publish:

 - I get only the first file is pdf'd
 - changing Publish Options>DWF tpye to: Multi-sheet DWF  I get a single pdf with multiple sheets

I'd like to get back to publishing several single page pdfs, but not sure where to start
Think I can cross out Acad publish options (explored what few options there to change)

If anyone uses Bluebeam, is that where the multi file single page settings come from?

If AutoCAD 2009 is like 2011, publish is fully capable of creating multiple single page PDFs. Re-check those options. I am away from CAD until tomorrow or I would post a screen shot.

Ron - Thxs, thats an option, but Id like to stay w publish. I'd prob have a lot more ?'s w/ Bluebeam, but thats Plan B

Rob - I'm looking @ publish options...not much to it (which is why I was looking @ bluebeam options). Publish has
   location
  password  on/off

The only option messing with is DWF type:  Single sheet DWF or Multi Sheet

(let me know if the attachment doesnt show.......@ work robdraw & my avatar dont show anymore but r ok on the iphone ????)

Try that again but have PDF selected under "Publish to:" before selecting "Publish Options..."

My "pub to" has 2 radio buttons
 - Plotter named in page setup (I have checked)
 - DWF format

No pdf option, looks like my update to 09 is still to far behind

What happens if you plot PDFs with "Single Sheet DWF" selected?

Do you have the AutoCAD DWG to PDF plotter?

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Day One as in the first post...................today:

changing options has no effect, ( even closed Acad), both produce a multi page pdf (I'm trying to get back to plotting several, single pg pdfs)

not sure about
Do you have the AutoCAD DWG to PDF plotter?

I have Bluebeam in the plot set up in the dwgs

Then the single page PDF option is in the Blue Beam options or you need to plot from within Blue Beam.

You did not say if you have the DWG to PDF plotter. If you have it and use it in your page set-up(s), you should be able to get single page PDFs.

Sorry I dont understand the question
In acad I have a plot setup called "record pdf" which Bluebeam is the plotter.  ( Is that what your asking?)

Nope.

It's in your plotter drop down list, it should be there. In more recent releases, (I'm not sure if 2009 is new enough.) the built in PDF plotter has gotten a lot better.

Just to be clear:
You made a new page set-up with the DWG to PDF plotter.
Applied it to all layouts and saved the file.
In publisher, verified that the correct page set-up was selected for each layout.
In publisher, selected "Plotter named in page set-up".

you hit on something!!

went step up step and now get a single pdf w/ each dwg...Thank You!

Before:
never used dwg to pdf.pc3 (just had bluebeam as printer)
never had to have the same plot setup and active in each file, (always used publisher to "import" plot settingsfrom first file to others)

have a plot setup "robdraw" in each file and step by step it works
have a plot setup "horsecookies" in the first file only and I only get the first file

Might be back, but for now Thank You!

"HorseCookies" LMAO!

A page set-up can be applied to all the sheets in the publish list as long as that page set-up resides in the top sheet. Select all the sheets, Ctrl+A or shift select. Then click the arrow to the right of the top sheet page setup and click the desired page set-up.

A page set-up can also be imported to the top sheet and the applied to all the sheets with the same method.

Thats what I'm trying to get back to.
If I "import" from the first file I'll get a multi page pdf, (1 page per file) - bad

If the same setup is "current" in each file, publish will give me what I want, several single page pdf's. Then whats the point of publish if I have to import the plot setting and make them current for each file (x82). Might as plot 1 at time if thats the case

So, I tried doing a publish using an imported page set-up for the DWG to PDF plotter and I couldn't even find the output. For some reason importing the page set-up doesn't seem to work as expected. That's probably why I/we use pay for and use AcroPlot. It's similar to BlueBeam.

Can you get the desired result plotting with the BlueBeam interface?

should find the pdf location in the Publish Options (hopefully)

the blubeam option will take some playing with (totally unfamiliar and looks cartoonish) and didn't want to hit ronjon with a bunch of stupid questions. (wheres the pens, wheres pagesetup, wheres my coffee, .......)

I'l take a look, may be awhile.

Just ask if you have any questions. I used Bluebeam exclusively when we were stuck on AutoCAD 2009 for 4 years.
