x-button mouse control.  Have your cake and eat it too.

cool - it sends these keys when you press middle button?

Code: [Select]
'pan;\\  :-)

Simulated keystroke on any assigned key:

I have the front thumb button always assigned to (2) escapes as default.

The beauty of x-button you can have the button assign per application as well.  I've been using it for some time and I love it.

Code: [Select]
{ESCAPE}'P{RETURN}
initiates pan.

I really appreciate everyones comments but first of all, all the drawings are on drive "C" and I created them all (or a lot of them). Our IT people say it's probably a virus, but Autocad files are the only files I can't open. Autocad message says "drawing file is not valid" That's the only message I get. I'm just having a difficult time believing it's a virus. Hmm, Hmmm ?

Are you opening them from within AutoCAD or from Windows Explorer?

I know you said they were created in house but is there a chance that they somehow got converted to a newer version?

Did you try opening them from the latest version of TrueView and convert them to 14?

open a drawing in notepad and read the first few characters, they tell you the autocad version, for example an old R12 drawing of mine starts with "AC1012".

Anything greater than AC1014 would mean the drawings were somehow a newer version.

If they are still R14, then perhaps they are corrupted (not a virus). Can you post one here?

I would post one except I'm afraid to spread a virus (if it is one) on The Swamp or have someone else
try to open it not knowing for sure.

Hi vinnyg,
Check the drawing file extension. I think that extension is not valid. May be that drawing file is not DWG file. Change the extension like - (text.dwg)  and try to open if  same problem will visible then try this format - text.dxf .  I hope this information will help you.
