Drawing with strange crosshair rotation
« on: August 12, 2013, 07:19:58 AM »
I have a drawing (blank) that, when I correct the UCS icon and viewcube, the crosshairs are rotated. I've checked the ucs and snapang, but can't think of what else it might be. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
The attached drawing is saved in 2011 (civil 3d 2011).

Thanks guys.

Set VIEW to plan.
That corrects it, but if you check your UCS, it's displayed as "Unknown" and if you reset it back to "World", it changes the ucs/viewcube back to the was.

VIEWTWIST is read only for me.

Code: [Select]
Command: DVIEW

Select objects or <use DVIEWBLOCK>: [Enter]

Enter option [CAmera/TArget/Distance/POints/PAn/Zoom/TWist/CLip/Hide/Off/Undo]: TW

Specify view twist angle <3.09>: 0

Viewtwist is zero.
I'm puzzled as to why "Top" would not be considered "world".

I could have sworn that changing the view fixed it the first time I tried it. DVIEW does it.

Not on my end. DVIEW always displays as zero.

Lee, was that 3.09 what the drawing is displaying on your machine?

Yes; drawing downloaded & opened, no other modifications performed other than using the DVIEW command.

I'm puzzled as to why "Top" would not be considered "world".

I see what you mean -
I believe it is standard behaviour that setting View to 'Top' will use an unnamed UCS until the user explicitely sets the UCS to WCS; however, in your drawing, when setting the UCS to World, the WCS axes rotate marginally clockwise...  :-(

And we're back to square one.  :|
