Hidden data in dwg
« on: June 25, 2013, 04:04:03 AM »
Hello,

I was not sure to which area this problem would belong, but I decided to post it here.

I'm using 3rd party CAD -software (drawing format is not dwg/dxf), and in that software you're able to add "product attributes" to blocks. The software allows you to export drawing to dwg -format.
I would like to edit those attributes in AutoCAD and I thought it would be easy, since probably the attributes are held in BlockTable and I could reference them from there. So I exported drawing with only ONE block to dwg, but there is only one object in BlockTable which doesn't contain those "product attributes".

So I was wondering where this data is held in this file? Is there a way that I could add some "hidden" data to a dwg database, like adding a new table to drawing database?

Thanks in advance!

I managed to solve it by myself.

If someone else faces the same problem: in this case the data was hid in a block as XDATA.
