ARCGIS Data into C3D 2011
« on: March 01, 2013, 03:33:04 PM »
We received a large grouping of GIS Files from a City, I have never seen these extensions before and I am wondering how I get them to import into C3D.

The File Extension are:

ATX File
FREELIST File
gdbindexes File
gdbtable File
gdbtablx File
LOCK File
SPX File

I am not sure what file I should be importing or which import to even use to import this information.

You can import shape files (*.shp) into C3D with mapimport, but that gdb* files look like it might be a geodatabase.  Have a look at Quantum GIS, if you don't have access to ArcGIS to convert the geodatabase to shape files.

Those are GEODATABASE tables for a geodatabase. I don't think that QGIS will import those. You'll have to convert them to *.shp files and then import into CIVIL3D.

I have Quantum GIS installed at work, but I am not a user. We have a few ArcGIS 10.1 licences on the network.

This might help.
