Good thought, however, even with my current dual screen monitors I don't typically span between them. Each monitor gets its own program or window on it.

Yea, I will say that even though these two monitors appear to be the exact same Dell monitors, they have a much different color to them.  At the same settings, one is much 'colder' / 'bluer' than the other.  A few minutes messing with colors and brightnesses got them pretty close, but it is still different enough that it would bother me if I had to do color-dependent work across screens.  I notice it now and then if I throw a document to the other screen and realize I'm reading on a bit brighter white background.
