Layer naming for views
« on: October 01, 2012, 11:11:14 AM »
How would you rather deal will layer names?
Although it might not seem like a big difference I think it is if you are having to deal with them.

For power vs lighting
EP-?... & EL-?...
or
E-POWR-?... & E-LITE-?...

E-POWR, E-LITE, etc. Power and lighting fall under the electrical discipline and it isn't necessary to be separated in that manner.

Depending on size job we will break up power and lighting into 2 different sheets.

E-* vs EP-*/EL-* to me is for filtering purposes. Like with mechanical discipline, M-* can work for HVAC and Piping, but if you have a ton of hvac and piping systems, tons of equipment, etc, then M-* and MP-* is needed. I guess ultimately it depends on the job.

I do too, but only because it's pinned next to Revit on my taskbar and it's always accidental.
