Topic: Spell check thinks every word is misspelled

Hi folks:
I have a user who's spell checker thinks every single word is incorrectly spelled and underlines it in red in the Mtext editor. If he brings up the spell checker, it tries to correct every single word even simple words like to and be. I've check the dictionary is american english, seems to be the same file size and date as other installations that work normally. Version is AutoCAD 2012.

Has the file been checked on another machine? 

Has the machine been rebooted?    

IF it is just that one machine, then I would first try to blatantly replace both the user's custom dictionary and the standard dictionary from another machine.  If not that does not fix it, then a repair or reinstall might be order. I think one of the squirrels is running backwards

I see this is about three years old but I came across it searching for my own solution. I had the same issue and discovered that this fixed it:

1. right click inside the text editor
2. editor settings
3. check spelling settings
4. select to ignore capitalized words, words with mixed case, words in uppercase

Seems as though this would be default due to the nature of the industry using all caps but this is what worked for me.
