I really miss those power exits ... they really cause you to snap to attention and get the blood flowing ... and the good old days waiting anxiously for the next Hot Fix to be available to see if it really does fix something critical that Service Pack 2 broke ...
That is all - back to my one button create a drawing with 2004 LT routine.

At least on my computer, this seems like a real POS of a release.

C3D just got caught in a loop and to be forced closed. I was attempting a window selection.

What are your system specs, Mark? I just selected 12000+ CogoPoints, although it did take 30 seconds, or so, to do so and may have appeared to be in a loop (selected these by window). But this is about the same as 2012. I will say that I'm not using 2013 for production due to compatibility with others I need to work with.

My computer has some kick-ass specs unfortunately its still running XP. It was spec'd out, and came with Windows 7-64 bit but they took it off and installed XP.

No, this was a loop, with text spewing across the window. :)

Do you have keyboard with sticky buttons? Looks like the space bar is being held down, as I can duplicate what you are seeing by holding mine down.

I'm not even touching the space bar, or any other key for that matter. I just go to select something and that's what I get.

While it's true some people seem to have a lot of trouble with C3D, I can say that I have very few problems with it. Why that is, I really don't know...although I think a lot of it is that I don't have to deal with an IT dept. It seems like 90% of the real weird issues I've seen reported are with people whose hands are tied by IT.

Mark, not sure what else to say, other than your IT dept has got you using a brand new release of C3D (which always has issues until the first service pack) on a 12 year old OS. Just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Mark, for the slow saves, what is SAVEFIDELITY set to? If 1, set it to 0 and try again.

Code: [Select]
Command: SAVEFIDELITY

Enter new value for SAVEFIDELITY <0>:

When saving C3D says it's saving a .tmp file in the current directory, which doesn't exist.

Are you saving to a local drive or network location? If network, can you try saving locally to see if that speeds up the save time? (Sorry for mentioning things you've probably already thought of, just putting them down as I think of them.)

For 32-Bit AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013
Microsoft® Windows® 7 (recommended) Enterprise, Ultimate, or Professional edition  or Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional edition (SP3 or later)

Kinda hard to argue with the IT folks when you see this. LOL

Local. I do everything local then back-up to the network.

What bugs me is the .tmp file. Why is it doing that? (rhetorical)

So they have a hard time going with what's recommended? Of course, I still don't know why a 32 bit version of C3D is even made available....

The problem was Novell Netware. I guess what we had wasn't compatible with 7. Or so I was told.

After trying Recover, which didn't work. Glad I made plenty of backups.

Tried a 'repair', no help. Downloading latest video driver now.

I was less than an hour away from finishing a DTM I've been working on for 2 weeks when C3D decided to trash my dwg.
