Topic: Customizing Tool Palette Groups??

Has anyone here ever messed with customizing Tool Palette Groups? If so, how/where can this info be accessed? I'm just wanting some direction to see if I can't do some "code monkey" kinda stuff to see if I can't figure something out when I update our Tool Palettes across our network.

We used to have heavily customized TP groups, but I was never provided any documentation, I more or less learned through trial and error.
