This is a weird question...but it is very important. When you double click on a dwg file, is there a way to make sure that LDD3 opens with the correct profile and what not? I tried changing the open options to have the profile path, but no go, any ideas?

Are you using a custom .dwt file? That's how I make sure. Set everything in the dwt file and then use that template to start all new drawings. To me that is much easier than fooling with the profile, and it does tha same thing.

What I do is copy the shortcuts for both map and LD4 to my "sendto" folder, then right click on the file and select the one you want from "sendto". As far as I know there is know way of doing what you want because the .dwg extension is associated with the the ACAD.exe, not an .arg file. So it depends on the last one you had open (map ldd).

try to export your user profile out to a file. and then in your short cut add the following which references your exported user profile... when double click on shortcut, user profile appears

"C:\Program Files\Land Desktop 3\acad.exe" /p "C:\Land Projects 3\AUTOCAD XXX.ARG" /nologo
