I wonder if THIS little item is why Google Earth went missing ...

I think it's an effect of Google Earth being gone, not the reason for it...

as we all know stuff in the "Labs" doesn't translate to stuff actually being in the product.

Further it misses the boat, as there is STILL no surface support provided by that piece  of Vapor Ware....also note stuff in the labs all ships with an expirey date built-in that can not be disabled.

Were is "What's New"? I just installed 2013 but can't find it in the documentation.
