Orthographic Projection - like this??

Does anyone do it this way as shown in the screen shot below?

The CAD standards state that all elevations, building sections and sometimes wall sections must be down this way.   Obliviously for this simple shed (an out building to the main building of the project) there is no need for a building section that would be placed to the right (under) the right building elevation.  But as you can imagine there are when the building is more complex.   

This plays havoc with hatch origins to begin with.  Per the standards, I have to create rotated views in model space.  I then have to create a viewport for each view and rotate whatever viewports accordingly.  Whereas the way I am use to, we lined all the views horizontally and used one viewport for as many views as possible.  And there was no rotating of viewports unless it was unique situation. 


The only piece of explanation that I get for the logic behind it is that saves on rotating.  I am somewhat told rotating the floor plan XRef is evil. 

I am just looking to see of other people/companies are doing this and that the way I have been doing it since 98 is all wrong.  Once I understand the logic a value I will adapt it faster.   :| :|

Are you not creating live sections directly from the model?  (or is the ADT, AKA Architecture?)

BTW lets add dimension text direction is incorrectly displayed in a rotated viewport.  :realmad:

I'm going to suggest Saved Views (you probably already do this)
And Linking the Model Views to the Sheets using Sheet Set Mananger
And Dimension Styles/Layers per view (because I know they wont let you dimension in Paperspace like you should)

I have never done that type of projection with Arch, only mechanical.  In this case (because it is small) it would fit on one sheet.  Elevations would align (side by side) then the plan would go on the bottom left with the section on the bottom right (elevation along the top.  aligning the elevations allow for hatch origin to work across the elevations.
