AutoCAD Entities Not Visible in Properties Dialog in Civil 3D 2011

Has anyone else seen or had this happen? On my PC, in Civil 3D, the AutoCAD properties dialog box does not detect AutoCAD Entities - Only Civil 3D ones.
I've logged this with Autodesk but none of their solutions have fixed it. (uninstall/re-install)
It also applies to the quick select tool.

My problem is sort of the opposite. I can only get Civil 3D objects to display in any of the properties dialog box. It ignores regular AutoCAD entitied. If I try the filter button/dialog, the same thing is happening there.
