Revit Demo from AutoDesk site
« on: February 10, 2012, 09:50:06 AM »
Hello all.

Many of our clients are switching to Revit and so we are having to change programs we use to keep up. The program we are looking to move to is AutoSprink. It won't open RVT files but it will open IFC files. For that reason, we will need an installation of Revit so we can convert the RVT files to IFC. Not a problem.... it is just an awful lot of money for the ability to convert but it is cheaper than the hours of back and forth reminding clients that we need IFC files.

All that being said, the demo version from ADesk goes into demo mode after 30 days. Does that demo mode allow the ability to saveas? Anyone know? We are basically looking for the TrueView functionality with conversion.

This would buy us a couple of things. We could each have the demo version installed on our computers so we can view the files as sent to us before conversion AND we could each have the ability to convert. Would be a huge use to us.

Thanks!

The DEMO version basically Time Bombs out on you and will NO LONGER open, or function in any fashion.

The demo version of Revit is a fully-functional version with a few key exceptions... you cannot save, print or export ANYTHING.  You can still open and view ANY Revit file or family and modify it.  You just can't save your work.
