Masked Text and Grid Lines
« on: February 09, 2012, 02:19:38 pm »
Sometimes the text mask blocks grid lines, sometimes it doesn't, on the same views. Thoughts, suggestions?

Draworder?

Offset of the Textmask to the Lines?

Command: TEXTMASK

Initializing...
Current settings: Offset factor = 0.3500, Mask type = Wipeout
Select text objects to mask or [Masktype/Offset]:

The above is from autocad knowledge...does Revit have similar settings?

Yes, but no that is not the issue. Please note the red duct tag masks the duct but not the grid line running through it.

Edit the tag family and change the text for the label from opaque to transparent.

I didn't make myself "clear". I want the text to mask the grid lines.

It depends on which was drawn first.  In the attached image I drew the horizontal and vertical grid lines before placing a duct tag.  I then drew a grid line at an angle and lo and behold, it's not being masked by the duct tag because it's "above" the tag.

More information for you. My grid lines are from a linked model.

Matt, you are onto something with the order thingy. Until recently I was using the Architectural grid and the structural one was not visible. If I cut and paste back into place, all is well.

Does Revit, really not support or posses a "Draw Order" function?

"Cut and paste"???  You're cutting the grids from one model to another??
