That autodesk would have realized we would really benefit from a solution to this issue. 
Instead they keep adding new features with new bugs to be worked around.

I'm with you on this! It's stupid to not be able to do such. An alternative would be to use an intermediary OLE server. I.e. say you want an Excel sheet pasted and rotated - you could first paste as BitMap link into a word document. Then rotate the bitmap there, then copy and paste as link into autocad from that. But I wouldn't hold my breath on if this is going to work properly in all cases.
