AutoCAD will not open if Outlook is started first
(1/1)
Gael:
Hello,
I have an issue....
I am running Windows 7 on 64bit machine.
Every night I restart my computer....
The next morning when I log in usually I open my email (MS Outlook - office 2007) then I start Civil 3D (2011) and it starts to open but then it hangs. I get the Civil 3D background but a drawing or command line will not come up and I just get a little blue circle that goes around and around and around.
This is not the only program affected, my time card which is a locally written software will actually start the software but then when I open my timecard it stalls and I get the blue circle again.
I also have noticed problems with my desktop icons. If I right click on them to get to a menu they just stall and I get the circle again. At that point Windows Explorer is having problems and the computer will shut that application and I can once again move around.
However upon restart if I start Autocad up and then eventually open MS Outlook I seem to run OK.
Any suggestions out there?

Not sure, but this post (on Microsoft Answers) sounds very similar.
In short... Maybe try reinstalling Outlook?
mjfarrell:
so Civil3d and others launch just fine IF you open them BEFORE Outlook....
