UK Pipework Valves Families?
« on: January 31, 2012, 11:38:16 am »
Does anyone know of any downloadable UK pipework families?

Specifically 25mm isolation valves, DPCV's, commissioning sets and double check valves?

The valves that come with Revit MEP are garbage and way oversize, I need to issue a huge apartment complex and don't really have the time to go about creating the necessary valves I need.

Cheers
Andy

seek.autodesk.com might have what you're looking for.

Or RevitCity.com

been there and they have nothing of use, i'm looking for residential type valves, all I can find online is the industrial types, way to big to be of any use.

Ah well, I'll need to create families for each type and size.

Is there anything similar to what you need?  Maybe you can tweak the formulas to create the size you're looking for.

there is not much I can use, it's a domestic installation for a multi storey apartment block.  nothing revit has is of any use.

I created very rough valves, all of which have the physical dimensions of the valves required, but are constructed of extruded circles and rectangles.  but as this is only a scheme design, it's useful to ensure clearances, when/if I have time i'll go back and recreate the valves.

I'm hampered somewhat by a lack of information from manufacturers, most have drawings which aren't true representations of the valves, dimensions which are wildly innacurate or mostly incomplete.

Its not free, but CADworks has alot of piping families for Revit and most of them are metric.
