(MicroStation) Deleting a "field"
« on: December 08, 2011, 03:12:53 PM »
I have a dgn converted from dwg (I understand dwgs more) that I use for Northings/Eastings. Now its time for As-builts and I need to edit the text. In Acad sweeping across the text in editor, rt clk and remove field (if I rember right), but how is it in MS?

Thx's!

To edit text that contains enter data fields
From the Text tool box, select the Edit Text tool.

Identify the text.

To accept the text, enter another data point.
The Text Editor window opens.

Edit the text.
Text in an enter data field is surrounded by delimiters, such as <<example>>. If there are any enter data field characters in the text, the delimiters enclose the spaces representing the empty placeholders, such as <<123 abc 456 >>.
To remove an enter data field, you can delete either the left or right delimiter, and the matching delimiter is automatically deleted. Although the text between the delimiters remains in the text element, it is no longer part of an enter data field.

As always thanks for the reply!

I'm not getting any "delimiters" in the text editor. No <> or quotes, just the input numbers 11416.10. If I drag across and rt clk I can " edit field" or "reassign a field". Don't want to reassign, if there were a none option in edit field I'd be happy.

Unless I'm doing wrong, no-go. All the "Coordinate Format" selections are pulldowns, can't delete or leave blank
