Revit Worksets: Check out a Workset?
« on: November 29, 2011, 11:16:18 AM »
I have a quick question. I received two Revit models from an architect, the Architectural Model and the Structural Model. I have the typical Revit errors about "cannot find Central File" and all that. I've always been able to still get in there and review the model. Apparently this file has Worksets on it and I cannot do anything.

The error is as follows when I try to un-check a Section Box in a 3D View:
Quote
Can't obtain permission to edit the element:  The Central Model is inaccessible.  You can check out worksets at risk, but consider carefully!
So my question is how can I "check out the workset" so I can just at least look over and review the model?

Thanks in advance!! 8)

Before opening, detach from central, you can then discard or preserve the worksets by following the prompts. That part is just personal choice. The important part is detaching from central.
Edit: Or you can do what Matt said.
