ARX Solution File Size

Am I setting up something incorrectly but the solution sizes are huge.
The actual arx file is not but the VS solution is huge.
Just some simple programs that do not do much.

.PCH (pre compiled headers) and .NCB (intellisence) files can get quite large, turning projects from a mere few hundred Kb to hundreds of Mb.
