AutoCAD 2012 SP1 Released
« on: September 07, 2011, 02:14:18 PM »
Bunches of bug fixes, 2 new Sysvars that some will really appreciate:

ARRAYCLASSIC - Creates copies of objects in a classic array.
SNAPGRIDLEGACY -  0 - Always snap the cursor to grid. 1 - Only snap cursor to grid when AutoCAD prompts to specify a point

someone here was just asking about that SNAPGRIDLEGACY (well they were wanting it, only IT didn't exist just last week!)

When I turn SNAP on, it only snaps to the points when a command is active.  Is there a way to have it always active as long as snap is turned on?
It's just always been a quick way to visually check to see if objects were on snap or not.

Where you pointed Out
I do not think I understand but I sometimes use shift + right-click and the letter of snap I want
He is talking about Grid Snap, not Object Snap (OSNAP) modes.

Also, I've not had to worry about this type of stuff since Land Desktop 2009, so forgive the silly question... is this applicable to Civil 3D/Map 3D 2012 also?  :?

Nope, now that Acad's SP is out the C3D team will be (hopefully) readying C3D's SP1 which incorporates Autocad's SP with whatever fixes they have for C3D. Speaking of C3D, a Hotfix was released yesterday for the "Prospector appears to lockup for periods of time" issue (C3D 2012).

As a rule, when its says "AutoCAD XXXX SP n" it refers to vanilla AutoCAD.  SPs for verticals will refer specifically to the vertical name (Civil3D, in this case).

I suspected that was the case, given that the read me file for the above mentioned SP only specified AutoCAD. However, I have a new computer being setup this week, and if applicable, the image being used to *install* C3D 2012 (create some weeks ago) would not include this SP... just trying to minimize duplication of work where I can. Seems like the last  3 years the verticals SP1 would come about a month later.
