2D vs. 3D

I'm using AutoCAD 2005 LT. Is there a big difference in drawing three dimensionally between the 2D system and the newer program with 3D capabilities?   I am attempting to manipulate the USC icon. I realize I'm missing a bunch of handy tools.

if you need 3D yes it is a big deal
