IE 8 on Windows 7 Professional

I have a laptop that is running Windows 7 Home 64bit with IE8 and now a second laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64bit, running IE 9.
The Project Database site that I use for my project does not work with IE9. I download IE8 for Vista 64bit and XP64bit and neither will install on my system.

Does anyone know a work around??

Have you tried  other browsers? Chrome, Firefox Opera ...etc?
