Missing preview when opening a file

does anybody know why there is no preview when opening a file in AutoCAD 2015?

the drawing were saved with the THUMBSAVE variable  = to 0

This also can happen when other script / routines are involved. When you use odbc wrapper functions there is no preview saved. The other way around also happens. Revit will save a dwg with a picture but this is not the view when you open it. Try figure it out..
