uninstall and completely remove AutoCAD...HELP!

OK, I had a student version of civil 3d 2011 installed, but due to a recent job change, I'll be doing some at home work and I had to install a legal production version. I uninstalled the student copy and installed the 'real' version, only for it to still think it's a student version. Do I need to uninstall and clear out the registry of anything autodesk related before installing? Any ideas? Anyone?

Most likely yes.  Do a search on the AutoDesk Website for Clean UnInstall.  Very clean step by step process.  Heck if I can do, anyone can.

in a nut shell, uninstall, delete all autodesk folders, regedit and delete the autodesk keys in HKLM and HKCU

Maybe you could just create a new user and install under that account?

Nothing worked, so I just grabbed my 7pro disc and reinstalled. Everything working fine.

Agreed. Plus, I scored a copy of 7 pro and had been looking for an excuse to replace my home edition install with it.

Windows Install clean-up usually works pretty good
