Group Project: Change item(s) to Layer [SIGN UP]
« on: April 05, 2011, 06:29:13 AM »
This thread is the sign up thread for the above mentioned Group Project. Please post here if you feel as though you can contribute. Although coding skills are not necessary, please keep in mind that there are limited administrative duties available so administrative positions may be on a first come basis.

Please post what position or duties you would like to preform.

Below is the synopsis for the project.
(Please note: this file is subject to slight modifications but i will adjust this post when and if changes are made)

I very much look forward to working with you all!

EDIT 1:
I noticed that the line endings are/were all goofed up; the attached file has corrected formatting (I have not changed this file in any other way).

I would like to contribute for position of 'Soldier' (Coder) and would like to focus on the DCL manipulation.

Management, possibly some documentation as well.  I'd rather get some approval (even in general) rather than taking it by lack of complaint.

As I see it, the first priority in hiring right now are 3-4 lieutenants to head up the modules.  Error control/system variable stack handling should be topmost, since it will be appied across most of the project.

I'll be taking a look at the Swamps SVN later this week.

If you'd like to have an OpenDCL option for the dialog I can take care of that.

I have no coding skills, but I can bounce check the product and help with usage documentation.

(dunno why, but I still chuckle at function "foo" every time I see it)

"Se7en's Work In Progress"  I figured it will do until something better comes along, and standardizing it up front will make the change a simple find 'n' replace later on.

Assistant Assassin
Whats with the `assistant' part? There is no `assistant assassin'.

Here is some "post correcting code" we can run on your previous post barc.
Code: [Select]
string TitleStrip(string title);

int main(int argc, const char *argv[])
{
        std::cout << "\nbarc would like the \"" << TitleStrip("Assistant Assassin") << "\" postion.";
        return 0;
} ///:~

string TitleStrip(string title)
{
        string stripedTileString;
        size_t found;
        found = title.find("Assistant ");
        if(found != string::npos)
        {
                stripedTitleString = title.replace(found, 1, "");
                return stripedTitleString;
        }
        else
                return title;
}

Lets run it and see what we get.

> barc would like the "Assassin" postion.

That's far more readable then the garbage you posted above. Wouldn't you agree?
