I'm drawing a commercial cafe' added to an interior space. The back wall is attached to existing fire wall and the remaining three walls will be short (knee) walls of varying heights.
The tallest is 54" AFF. The long span is 34' so there is potential for customers to lean on the wall. There are SS tables & equipment on one side but nothing will be attached.
The knee wall will be Metal studs, most likely 22 ga. 6"x1-1/4" with same track. #8 screws and 5/8 Sheetrock both sides. Wood cap for decoration. I see some metal 'L' brackets available that are used for stiffing the walls at openings but that doesn't seem strong enough.
Just wondering if any of you have ideas as to how to stiffen the wall laterally.
