Change autostacking symbol
« on: February 04, 2011, 08:56:36 AM »
I do electrical drawings where we will callout conduits as such: 1"C: 3#4, #4G
That's all great unless autostack is on.  Or, if I have 11/2" conduit in which I want the 1/2 stacked and have to manually stack it.
What I would like to know is if there is a way to change the autostack symbol from # to something else, maybe the tilde symbol ~

Tnhanks,

highlight the stacked text in the text editor, right-click, click on 'stack properties' option, then click on the 'AutoStack' button, then deselect the "Enable AutoStacking" option.

Thanks for the info and the comment, but that's not what I'm interested in doing.  If I have autostack on, then my electrical tags get stacked.  If I have it off, then my conduit sizes don't get stacked.  What would be great is if the symbol for the type of stacking can be changed to something other than the # symbol.

well, it looks like it's either on or off and I can't find where to change characters, so another option is to highlight and manually stack where needed.

Yeah, that's what I thought.  I figured with all the enormous talent here, someone would know a secret backdoor entrance into AutoCAD to fix such a thing.

Thanks for the replies,

Turn it off, and keep your fractional sizes inline rather than stacked.  I still get drawings which attempt to be fancy with stacked fractions only to end up with "?" all over the drawing.   :realmad:
If you are going to fly by the seat of your pants, expect friction burns.

try {GreatPower;}
   catch (notResponsible)
      {NextTime(PlanAhead);}
   finally
      {MasterBasics;}

Can you use single line text for your callouts, maybe make them attributes.
