thinking to self .... what if we moved the CAD forum above the programming forums .... LOL
Us old dogs had better stay alert ... Mark is thinking about moving the food dish again.
Ironically, this very forum format we are enjoying today is a direct result of feedback from a group of Cad Vault refugees following an infamous late night on line meltdown.  Everyone was searching for a "new normal" and trying to ride out the choppy waters resulting from the sudden influx of new members and there was a suggestion made that Mark to look at SMF forum format as an alternate to what was in use at that time.
Welcome any new members who find themselves here in the wake of the problems at augi.

Disaster.

The Swamp is great but focuses mostly on customization and tweaking.  AUGI provided a much more user-centric forum for solving day-to-day questions.  Collectively we just went from standing on a mountain to standing on a molehill.
I think that AUGI must say sorry to me.and this post.

...I'm so angry right now my hands are shaking.
Because of the disrespect I'm seeing. I wont answer now because i need to cool down but all I'm seeing is people coming into someones house saying stuff like: "Its a nice house but..." or "I miss my old house..." or etc. etc..
7, don't be angry. No need to take seriously for someone who didn't worth it.

I know I have learn more about general Cad by programming, there is a wealth of knowledge about general Cad in the programming fourms here.

I am to dumb for lisp but still read this fourm because I still learn things about certain system variables causing a program to fail, etc.....

I tend to use AUGI when I have a question on how to screw a pootch.

There was no 'Code Red' in Augi,
and now there is a real 'Code Red' for Augi.

Here is a COND statement for you:
Code: [Select]
(cond
    ((= Site "Augi.com")
           (prompt "\nAugi is untrustworthy!")
    )
    ((= Site "Theswamp.org")
           (prompt "\nThe future is in the swamp!")
    )
)

No need to even check the URL when you don't offer an alternative.

Out of curiosity, I checked in to the Augi forums today. Looks pretty aweful. all I have to say is "HERP DERP" on their part.

No trogg, our admin knows what he's  doing. have a little faith.  ...besides, kick off your shoes and stay a while; you will like what you see(you haven't even scrathed the surface of theSwamp yet).

I really do feel bad that all that info was lost

Neither the data nor the forum structure were "lost". It has nothing to do with the forum admins or not backing up, etc. The owner of said data simply chose to protect his rights and IP and removed it from being accessed by Augi and/or its members due to various reasons. What should be criticized here is the decision(s) made long ago that allowed this data to be removed from Augi's control.

EDIT: This link explains the situation better than I did above:
