Using a LISP routine to fill in the titleblock
« on: April 05, 2010, 03:48:00 PM »
Hello all,

I am an electrical drafter and have been using CAD now for a little over ten years now. I never had to create my own LISPs until now. My programming skills at this moment would be equivalent to a child learning to walk, haven't the slightest clue but i know I'll get there.

The company I work for uses Excel to create its project database. I know how to create a table if need be and I know how to link to Excel and create labels to fill in information on the drawing itself. I could create links and labels for the titleblock but it takes time to do, not to metion the headaches. And if the links get broken somehow I would have to do it all over again. So I was wondering, can a LISP routine be used to bring in information in from Excel to populate the titleblock?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
