Options Display tab & CUI can't hold its own
« on: February 26, 2010, 02:39:40 PM »
Hey all,
So I'm running ACAD Map3D 2010 on a ...  (clears throut ... Dell.
Every time I start ACAD, the Display Resolution has a different setting.  Anybody know what's up with that ??

Also, every time ACAD starts, I get an error
Quote
Unable to load Enterprise.cuix  This file already exists
Has anyone ran into this before ??

Are you saying that Windows resets its resolution like 1024x768 one time, then 1280x1024 the next, then 1920x1440 the next and so on - completely random?

No, the windows resolution is fine, no problem there.  It is autocad.
In Options, under the Display tab, in the Display Resolution section;
Arc & Circle smoothness is randomly set when autocad starts, anywhere from 100 to 20000.
Segments in a polyline curve seem to hold at 8.
Rendered object smoothness bounces around from 1 to 10.
Contour lines per surface seems to set itself at either 0 or 4.

I have set these a dozen times, but they will not hold their own.  I don't have an issue with any other setting in the Options.

And in terms of the Enterprise.cuix file, ...  I have no other enterprise.cuix file to get

So why am I getting this error ??

what are you loading in your acad.lsp file or other start up routines?

Everything is out of the box.  The only change made was half a dozen LiSP routines under the 'Autoload' section of the acad2010doc.lsp file.  I've read recently I should be using an 'acaddoc.lsp' file for this so I'll be moving these lsp's from the acad2010doc.lsp file over to the acaddoc.lsp file shortly.  There is nothing in these half dozen routines that access or have anything to do with the display of contour lines or arc & circle smoothness.
The acad.lsp file has not been touched.

FACETRES and ISOLINES system variables are stored per drawing, so could have different values if you are starting in different drawings.  Are you double-clicking an existing drawing file to open AutoCAD, or starting the application with a blank drawing?
If you are going to fly by the seat of your pants, expect friction burns.

try {GreatPower;}
   catch (notResponsible)
      {NextTime(PlanAhead);}
   finally
      {MasterBasics;}

I was partially suggesting that those items that you want to be set in a certain way, you might just want to set them in that acad.lsp doc

That makes much more sense.

Read the HELP file for each of these variables. Some are saved in the drawing, others in the registry, and others not at all. You may also have startup code running that is changing some of these.

Acad.lsp wouldn't have anything to do with it anyway, unless you have ACADLSPASDOC set to 1 for some strange reason.

just a stab in the dark - I think it depends on your drawing template (acad.dwt) - you need to set the variables and then save the template.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the CUI...
