Question about .BAK extension file.
« on: January 13, 2010, 10:48:31 AM »
Hi all..

we have aquired a new software who save the project as a .BAK extension file.

Questions:

1) is .BAK file is nomalized or copyrighted ?
2) can we configure AutoCAD to change .BAK file extension default ?

Thanks.

Andrea take a look at some of the links in this thread. It covers file extensions and copyright.

thank you Mark....nice informations there.

OK,..

There is MOVEBACK command line provided by ExpressTool
who change or add the "AcetMoveBak" Value in Windows registry located at:

eg:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R17.1\ACAD-6001:40C\FixedProfile\General
and
HKEY_USERS\S-X-X-XX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXX\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R17.1\ACAD-6001:40C\FixedProfile\General

but after tests...
only the Key below affect the change
HKEY_USERS\S-X-X-XX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXX\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R17.1\ACAD-6001:40C\FixedProfile\General

Just sharing for info... :-)
