OK, now the question (my question) is; is this topic in the right place?
Moderators does this belong in the NEWS section?

I say we form a committee to study the text of the proposed legislation. Once the study is finished we can debate the location of this thread. Then, and only then, we can vote on it. Hows that sound?

The "Delegate" from AZ, formally proposes that this topic, be moved to the NEWS section until the full committee vote is taken, so as to not interfere with normal operations of the Land Lubber subcommittee.

The Representative from FL would like to remind the gentleman from AZ that this forum is also dedicated to matters that are geographic in nature.

Yes, we understand the nature of the forum.  This article seems to be more general news, is all.
Although the timing is a little ironic, just as autodesk continues to strip the MAP tools of their power; here comes this measure that pushes GIS (mapping) to the fore.  Brillant!

Can I chair the commitee?  I'm not vertically challenged, geographically positioned and any certain point in time.

But I do have a chair.  I'll give the swamp $5.

Doesn't matter, it's too important to know exactly what's going on... just do what they say
