[acad2010] Unhandled Exception: AcOpmExt.arx
« on: June 19, 2009, 12:31:53 PM »
Installed Autocad 2010 from the same dvd on two dif computers.

One computer opens a file just fine.

The other gives me an unhandled exception with AcOpmExt.arx and causes a fatal error.  I copied the .arx file from the good comp to the bad one, and the problem persists.  They're identically spec'd Dell computers.

What the duece?

This suggests a repair install is in order.

Be sure all anti virus type software is OFF during this process.

Try giving the user Admin Rights before launching.

In the process of doing so now, as I couldn't find anything in the knowledge base, or even via Google, other than another user posing a similar condition; unresolved.

Yay.  Fixed the error.
*edit* nevermind.  Error still comes up.  Seems like Autocad is just fighting over what it wants to claim is the problem.  *sigh*

Now it just crashes 'normally' whenever I try to navigate the model.  *sigh*

I hate AutoCAD sometimes.

2gb RAM
Pentium 4

Either runs out of system memory or just plain chucks a wobbly no more than 10 seconds into trying to opening the file and I'm not even trying anything harsh.
