AutoCAD MDT is probably the most prevalent, but solidworks also has a niche

Seeing as how the position I applied for mentioned putting me in mechanical, I thought I would read a bit in here when I came across this thread and then looked at the dates. Maybe I have a better chance than I thought due to it's emptiness?  :-D Wait, why would no one want to go into mechanical??  :? Does the mechanical community have a secret forum elsewhere?  8-)

Seriously, any ideas on the outlook for mechanical drafters?

Mechanical Desktop (MDT) has not been offered for sale as product by Autodesk for many years.  Apparently the forum moderator has never heard of the replacement product - Autodesk Inventor.
