Custom Dictionaries.

Does anyone use and install the same custom dictionary on each machine?
Since brand names and abbreviations are often job specific, I was thinking it would be a smart move, however the acad 2010 sample.cus file uses a different format than the previous files. Is that a problem?

Yes and no.  We use the same custom dictionary on each machine but it's located on the server, not on each machine.

OPTIONS --> FILES tab --> TEXT EDITOR, DICTIONARY, AND FONT FILE NAMES --> CUSTOM DICTIONARY FILE

Matt have you managed to use a 2008 cus file in 2009 0r 2010?
2008 looks like this
ACAD
ACIS
ACX
AFF
AGAM

2009 & 2010 looks like
ACAD00ACIS00
where the 00 is enter enter

We haven't made the leap to AutoCAD 2009/10 yet so I guess I can't help you anymore.   :|  Sorry.

I have placed the custom spelling dictionary (just to make sure we are talking about the same thing) in the user "my documents" folder.  SO I just map to it for each upgrade.  I just did that for 2010 and had no problems so far but I have only upgraded myself.
