« on: April 01, 2009, 08:28:46 PM »
Just got my subscription upgrade for Map 2010. Now to find the time to load it.

Does anyone know of any tricks or problems with it?

Thanks in advance.

I'll do the same if you would like, as Dino says, "Just forward the disk to me."  :-D

You could just download it from the Autodesk site. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=9980132

What, you don't have an extra 6k kicking around you can dump into your own copy?  :-D

I have not gotten my (on subscription) upgrade disk yet... I just got 09 working the way I want it... :ugly:

No wuckers Cary. hopefully I'll get to install it tomorrow. Seeing as how it's pretty obvious no-one has come before me. So I'll be the bunny here.  :lmao: :lmao:

Color me cynical; I just find it hard to get excited about 'the next release' of autocad anything.
Only to find that many of the issues in the previous (current) version, and five before that, are still in the application not functioning as advertised exactly as they did before I installed the new version.  I just can't get excited about that.

Imagine how much I can't wait to see that Map can STILL not do anything with Civil 3D objects, even after 6 years.....

Oh joy!

I might download the demo copy tonight and give it a try.  I didn't even know the 30 trial was available for 2010.  I have a 2010 vanilla trial and from what I can tell, unless you really get into the parametric editing (which also seems to be giving the most grief currently) it may not be worth dealing with the new dwg format at least for a while.

Just to clarify something here troops, the only reason we use Map is so we can get acad to work with AGM coordinates. for us it is not a design tool. Purely a drafting package that can handle the AGM coords. We use 12D Model for all design work. So I'm really not much help at all as far as the finer points of Map goes.

Now Christopher ... that was too easy to spot.  If Autodesk were taking that tack now they would just send out a link to a Bricscad V9 download and a folder full of lisp and drx routines.

Alan ... That is one slow download and install but I have MAP 2010 30 day trial running.  A good thing it was I got used to waiting for the install to finish as it is good patience training for trying to run the thing.
D  O  G     S   L   O   W   that pig is - and the command response is like sticking your foot in a pool of quicksand.  They did do some nice work on the Ribbon if you like that sort of thing.  It actually seems useful in all 3 of the provided options.  I don't know if anything previously broke is now fixed or if they busted something that used to work perfectly as yet.  Have fun loading it up if you haven't already and if not you best bring along plenty of refreshment before you do ... of course you will have time to go out and get a few pints while it loads if you forget.
