Windows XP PRO with Acad2008

On one of our work stations, the Layer Control drop down stalls and displays an hour glass.

This happens when after making another current or moving objects to a selected layer.
In other words the command is completed then the hour glass shows up.
Clicking in the drawing or hitting the esc fixes this.

This has been an issue regardless of what file is open.

Any ideas how to correct this?

Sounds like a graphics driver issue. It may help to post your CPU's specs, ie. Type of grahics card w/O.B. memory, amount of RAM, etc.
