Arial text.

I'm using the dimstly's "alternate units below primary units", but it puts every thing above the line. You don't have a choice with the placement (you have to have either beside or below).
Dunno dude, works fine here??

Hmmmmm I just now got a chance to play with this and....you're right!  It won't accept the|X as a divisor.  Seems to be treating the dim as twi separate text entities......Damn those fools at Autodork! Damn me for thinking they could get it right in the first place.........

Well I did get it to work if I turned off the alternate units in the dimstyle and used the line <>\X[] in the ddedit box for the individual dims, but I have too many dims to retro act this format, and I can't get the dimstyles alternate units to work right.

Oh well, thanks everyone for you help.

Autodork must have changed something in 2004 or 2005.

Andrew, what about a find/replace (<>\X[] for <>) once you've made all the dims?

I sort of figured out what is going on.

I started a new drawing from scratch, placed a dim (with all default dimstyle values) and then added the line "<>\X[]" to the ddedit box and it worked. So I can't figure out what is the difference between that and my dimstyle that won't let me did it right. I tried changing my setting to match the default dimstyle which worked and it still wouldn't do it correctly.
Start a new drawing from scratch and in the dimstyle editor under Primary Units add the \X as a suffix (It is case sensitive and must be upper-case X).  Turn on the alternate text and make a dimension.  Does that work??

Nope, not here. Tried placing the \X in the alt units prefix too....get \X386.72 mm.

Yeah, no luck here either.

And as far as I know the find & replace has never worked on dimensions (or at least I know it doesn't in 2005, I haven't tested the previous versions yet).

For you 2K4+ guys, try putting a space behand the X  "\X ".

thought of that already, only addes it the text.

12'-0"\X [365.76]
12'-0" \X [365.76]
12'-0" \X[365.76]
12'-0"\X[365.76]

ACAD displaces them all incorrectly.

Find replace works for me in ABS 3.3.  Just had to make sure under options that "Dimension Annotation Text" is the only thing checked.  "Find whole words only" messed it up.
