C3D 2009- Questions about laying out parcels
« on: December 08, 2008, 01:32:34 PM »
When laying parcels, can I specify a minimum area, say 2 acres as criteria? Also, can I have the program automatically excludes/minuses certain areas such as easements (shown in red in the attached image) when applying the minimum area criteria?

Thanks!

The answer is both Yes, and no.
Yes you can layout the parcels using a specified area, use the drop down to fill out the parcel size information for frontage and area.
No it will not automatically subtract those easement areas. So you will have to take them out of the area to be divided first and then size them accordingly.

Look for Parcels>>Parcels By Layout and hit the double chevrons on the upper right corner to see the options as shown in the attached image.

You will probably find the "Free Form Create Tool" helps a great deal with those odd shaped lots that must meet a specific size requirement.
