acad.dvb is read only w/ vista
« on: November 10, 2008, 07:29:01 PM »
I can't seem to beat it into submission.
I've tried all the ownership stuff, including those of it's parent folder.
I call the main dvb from the acad.dvb, so it has all of 3 lines of code.
So I need to save the 3 lines of code but nooooooo. Vista seems like the windows version of acads cui.

I had similiar problems, so I disabled the UAC

They say money can't buy happiness, but it can buy Bacon and that's a close second.
Sometimes the question is more important than the answer. (Thanks Kerry for reminding me)

Did you disable it permanently?
(I had to disable it to load the help for visual studio arx help files)

No problem.  I really have found that I like Vista, except for the UAC.  That thing is so frusterating, it wont let you do anything to your machine.  Once disabled, the pc runs really well.

I've just spent a whopping $300 on a new machine (In the past I've averaged 2700) and now that the uac is turned off it seems pretty good.
Way faster than my year  2000 clunker.
