Topic: Eight Ball

I am trying to create an eight ball, I think that I have the shape and the colors decent but how would I add the eight to the center of the white? Is there a way to create text to do it. Or would it be easier to find a texture and add it to the sphere? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

this would suggest that you either
A create an image BLACK field with the white circle and the eight as a material and map that on to the sphere

or

B Insert a circle (small cylinder onto your sphere) and map that white circle and the eight image onto those faces
