CDG Purge 4.0 problem
« on: September 04, 2008, 05:03:48 PM »
hello again!

remember my 42MB dwg problem? it's back. only this time, i have dwgs that are getting BIGGER when I use CDG Purge!

I tried all my past "fixes" and they are not working...

I do a simple purge, and the dwgs go from say, 105kb to 250kb! when I use CDG Purge, dwgs go from 250kb to 1.8MB!!

What's the deal?

can you post the file for us to look at?

I get an error: Dwg is not valid

did you resave it down as 2004 or 2000?

I suppose I forgot to mention that I'm working with A2004.

[edit: don't worry, I converted it myself using DWG TrueConvert]

see if this one is better.

so what did you do, other than open it and save it using a newer ACAD?

cuz I still need to *fix* the original dwg.

Run Michael's "counts" routine to see what's in the drawing. I'm not sure why the drawing is so big :?

I don't notice anything unusual.... what I'm wondering is why does the dwg jump from 331kb to 1.8MB after I run CDG Purge??

There are almost 5000 empty texts in this drawing. Do erase all remove crossing (now select everything visible) to get rid of them.
