CDGpurge 4.0
« on: September 08, 2004, 03:25:12 PM »
Hi everyone...
A while back when 4.0 was put on this site, it worked for a few people and several of us couldn't get it to work. has anyone found a solution.
I really want to be able to run it via a script, but am not having any luck as I can't even get 4.0 to work.

Any ideas?

Pieter

I can't find the website for CDGpurge.  I'm using this web address http://www.caddevelopmentgroup.com/downloads.htm but Firefox returns a message saying the site cannot be found.

Am I looking in the right place. :?

I just checked both the web site and the authors e-mail address and neither one is valid.

Here is a link (if link doesn't work, I guess you can cut and paste into your browser, if it still doesn't work, let me know and I'll post a zip to the lily pond).

http://theswamp.org/lilly.pond/roderick/cdgpurge40.zip

I was helping Joel at CDG develop this and haven't talked to him in a while, so their site may be down.

If I remember correctly, it took me a little figuring to get the install to work correctly. I had to manually delete all the CDG Purge 3.0 (if you're running an older version, then delete all those files too) and then delete the mapping in AutoCAD. I put these files in a folder I created (mine is CDG Purge 4.0, but you can make it whatever you want), then I remapped AutoCAD to that location. I think it took me a couple tries to get it work right.

Let me know if you still can't get it to work and I'll see if I can write up a 'step-by-step'.

BTW.... there is no .exe file for 4.0, just individual file for manual placement.

Andrew, Do you know if 4.0 is supported by 2002? It works in 2004 on my machine but not 2002.

I'll keep trying.

I'm not sure. I think it specifically designed for 2004-2005, but I'll check to see.

No, you're not going crazy, those files aren't included.

I think I just reused the ones from CDG Purge 3.0, but I'm not sure (was a long time ago).

If needed, I'll e-mail them to you or post to lily pond.

I don't know if those particular files from 2.0 were modified for 3.0 (which is what 4.0 files are based on).

I'll post to lily pond then a link.

First, uninstall all CDG Purge files and delete all directories (C:\Program Files\CDG...)

Second, install CDG 3.0

Next, copy the following files in to a temporary directory (so to save a copy of them)
AcadInst.exe
AcadInst.ini
AcadInst.log

Next, delete all 3.0 files (including the mapping in AutoCAD), except for the three files in a different directory mentioned above.

Next, install 4.0

Next, move copied files to the 4.0 directory location.

Finally, remap AutoCAD to the latest CDG directory.

If you still can't get it to work, then keep trying. It took me several tries to figure it all out.
