Audit/recover moves text
« on: May 21, 2008, 05:34:11 AM »
Hi

We have received some drawings from a surveyor that we must convert to PDF.

The drawings was created with unknown cad software and exported to dwg. I think the surveyor uses a very old version of Allycad. (http://www.allycad.com/).

When I open the drawings and change the text from standard to Romans, some of the text moves to 0,0,0 on the drawing. Audit and recover also moves the text to 0,0,0.  Wblock does not work either. I still end up with a drawing that is not correct.

The only way to solve the problem is to open it with Caddie (http://www.caddiesoftware.com/index.php) and then exporting it back to Autocad.

Is their a way to solve the problem in Autocad?  And what could possibly be wrong with the drawings?  See the attached file.

When I opened the DWG all of the text was already stacked on top of each other and they did not move when edited.

Hi Keith™

All the text looks fine when I open the drawing, bus as soon as I audit, some of it moves to 0,0,0 origin.
