Area of Hatch
« on: April 02, 2008, 08:18:38 PM »
This might sound like a newbie question, but I've never needed this before...

Is there a way to find out what the area that a hatch covers is?  I have a bunch of closed polylines with islands inside that are not included in the hatch.  I was hoping not to have to calculate the area of each of the islands and subtract them from the main hatched area.

Does that make sense?

This gem will help me out a bit for now.  I'll try to modify it tomorrow.

**Edit**
It returns a value of just the hatch (meaning it subtracts the islands/holes from the whole).
what is also great is that will sum the areas of the hatches selected.

I + XI = X is true ...  ... if you change your perspective.

I no longer CAD or Model, I just hang out here picking up the empties beer cans

There is also the clunky area command where you add and subtract areas
